While most of your friends have probably been raving about this movie, there are some not-so-redeeming qualities. Based on the title alone, you know nothing is going to work out that will save all of the SEALs in the story. But, there are a lot of twists and turns you would not expect. The whole film takes place in a matter of days; thus not leaving enough time for you to invest in the characters. I feel Ben Foster was too distant. Maybe that is how they wanted him to portray his character. Taylor Kitsch does a fine job as a Lieutenant. However, Mark Wahlberg as anything but the man in charge is a strange casting. Wahlberg's dialogue is mostly believable. The last twenty minutes or so really make the movie worth it. Not only do we see a great performance from Mark, but we also get to see photos and videos of the real heroes. Not so much a tear jerker, a good amount of gore, and based on a true story.
Final Ruling: If your friends are going to see it, go along.
